The Kirkby Lonsdale Handbell Ringers was founded in the early 1970s playing on an old set of handbells found in St. Mary's Church, which probably dated from about the 1820s.
Thanks to a Lottery grant in 1995, extra bells were acquired and we now have a range of five and a half octaves, which has enabled us to expand our repertoire. We give regular concerts and have performed at Regional, Northern and National Rallies. We featured in a programme on BBC radio and we also feature on Mike Harding's CD of A Yorkshire Christmas.
We are a member of the HRGB North West Region.
